The Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) is the peak professional association for research Management Professionals across Australasia (Australia, New Zealand and Singapore). As a not-for-profit organisation, ARMS advances excellence in the sector by empowering professionals, strengthening institutional capability, and fostering a connected, forward-looking community, now with a growing focus on the opportunities and implications of artificial intelligence in research management. ARMS supports a diverse and expanding membership through high-quality professional development, collaborative networks, and knowledge exchange. We are committed to enabling our community to confidently navigate emerging technologies, including AI, and to drive
innovation, efficiency, and impact across the research lifecycle.
The 2027 AI in Research Management Symposium is in collaboration with the ARMS Artificial Intelligence in Research Management Special Interest Group.
About the Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group
The newly launched Artificial Intelligence in Research Management SIG aims to foster collaboration, research, and knowledge sharing among Research Management Professionals on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Research Trends: Discussing the latest advancements in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, etc.
- Ethics and Policy: Addressing the ethical implications of AI technologies and advocating for responsible practices.
- Applications: Exploring real-world applications of AI across different industries, such as healthcare, finance, and education etc.
- Workshops and Networking: Organising webinars, or regular catch up meetings for members to share their work and to connect.
